Athletics

District XI: Palmerton High School competes in District XI tournaments, and is part of the Colonial League and PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association).

Colonial League: Palmerton joined the Colonial League in 1994.

Centennial League: From 1977 to Spring 1993, Palmerton was a member of the Centennial League which also included: Pocono Mountain, East Stroudsburg, Stroudsburg, Pleasant Valley, Lehighton, Northern Lehigh, Northwestern Lehigh, Notre Dame (Green Pond), and Palmerton. After 16 years, the league became uncompetitive and dominated by the larger schools. This was due to the increasing large enrollments of the (AAAA) schools in the Poconos from Monroe County (P. Mountain, Pleasant Valley, Stroudsburg, and East Stroudsburg). In 1994 these schools along with Lehighton created a new league called the Mountain Valley Conference(MVC), where all these schools still belong. Although 2 schools(East Stroudsburg and Pocono Mountain) actually split into 4 different districts due to their exploding enrollments. Lehighton, only a AAA sized high school, opted for the MVC because it desired to maintain it's tradition as a "football school". Despite joining the MVC, Lehighton has remained a geographical rival to Palmerton. The schools still play each other in most sports.

Lehigh Valley League: Prior to 1977, Palmerton was a member of the Lehigh Valley League.
